What is the difference between a Float Pod and my bathtub at home?
First, the float pod is purpose-built for floating by a very reputable manufacturer in the floating business, Float Pod Technologies. It offers a controlled environment in terms of temperature, and sanitation. Our pods feature a 3-step filtration system that uses ozone, UV and particle filtration that constantly keep our water clean and safe. The heater will also keep the water at a constant temperature that approximates the temperature of your skin. We'll monitor the pods to make sure the water stays free of microbes, pH is in range and the Epsom salt level remains constant. Additionally, the float pods feature a door that will block external light and sound for a true sensory deprivation experience. If you'd rather have a bit of light, our pods feature an LED lighting system that will produce light in a myriad of colors. Also, the pods feature an auxiliary hookup for a user's iPod/equivalent for music. Finally, there will be approximately 900 lbs of Epsom salt and about 215 gallons of water in the pods; far more than you can fit in the average bathtub!
What kind of float tanks or rooms will you be using?

How is the water kept sanitary?
First off, every patron will be required to shower prior to floating to remove any lotions, oils and hair products that would potentially contaminate the water. People with certain skin conditions or those that have gotten a tattoo recently will be prohibited from floating for their own safety and the cleanliness of the water. Our pods are fully compliant with the latest (2010) federal regulations as spelled out in the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act. They are equipped with 3 different filtration systems: ozone, UV, and particle filters. The ozone and UV filtration systems run 100% of the time when the pod is not in use. The ozone and UV filters will kill any bacteria that may enter the water. We will also stagger our appointment times by 30 minutes to run the cleaning cycle on the pods to ensure they are sanitary, and we will sanitize all the surfaces in the rooms between appointments. This will ensure that everyone enjoys a clean, comfortable floating experience!
Will larger people have any difficulty?
The interior dimensions of our pods are 84"x 58", or 7' x 4'10". The opening of the pod is 24" (2') from the floor. We will do our very best to accommodate anyone who can comfortably fit into the pods. There are no weight limits so we will do what we can to accommodate everyone!
How does floating help alleviate fibromyalgia?
First, we should preface our answer; we are not medical professionals, nor are we qualified to provide medical advice. That being said, there was an interesting study done in 2012 that showed that floating can "greatly improve the lives of people with fibromyalgia by significantly decreasing their pain, muscle tension, anxiety and stress." Here is a link to the study! http://fibromyalgiaflotationproject.com/
