Infrared Sauna vs Traditional Sauna

By Float OKC

If you have tried a conventional sauna and found it too much, the difference here is the thing worth knowing.

People who dislike saunas usually dislike one specific thing: breathing very hot air.

Two different mechanisms

A traditional sauna heats the air in the room, and you warm up from the outside in. An infrared sauna warms your body directly with infrared light, so the air itself stays considerably cooler.

What that changes in practice

The room feels milder while still being properly warm. The air stays easy to breathe. For most people who have written saunas off, that single difference is enough to change their mind.

How we run it

Sessions are 30 minutes in a private room, $25 on their own. Booked with a float as a Float + Infrared Sauna visit it is $95, which is less than the two separately.

Drink water before and after, bring or use a towel to sit on, and wear whatever you are comfortable being warm in.
