What if I get salt water in my eyes?
Short answer
There is a small spray bottle of fresh, clean water inside every tank for exactly this. Flush your eye with it and the stinging settles almost immediately. It is a common enough thing that we keep one within arm's reach in every pod.
It is not an emergency
It stings, and then it stops. The spray bottle is positioned where you can reach it without getting out.
Avoiding it in the first place
Most people get salt in their eyes by touching their face with wet hands. Keeping your hands in the water rather than resting them on your face is the simplest prevention.
Good to know
- There is a towel within reach as well, for drying your hands before you touch your face.
